CASUAL CATASTROPHES - 2025
Casual Catastrophes is a series of satirical illustrations that flip the cause-and-effect of human lifestyle choices and their impact on the environment; by using inconceivable literals to humorously critique the consequences those choices have on the world’s overall health.
![]() 10.7 x 14.5", screenprint - Having been diagnosed with Autism from an early age, this piece is very near to my heart. I suffer from this pollution on a daily basis. Being overstimulated to a point where it's borderline debilitating, this piece embodies what I feel when I'm struggling with the noise surrounding me. Blowing apart a vulnerability and shattering the remains. | ![]() 8.5 x 11", screenprint - You would never smoke a fish. However, you might try out Cigarettes; one of the most common pollutants found at the BOTS (Bottom of the Sea). | ![]() 22 x 14", screenprint, oil pastels, copic markers - It can take gallons of water to make a single carton of almond milk. Causing drought, wildfies appear in places such as California due to this whole milk alternative. Do not fret though, because while they might be running out of a stable water source from this production, they can still fight the fires it causes! |

![]() 10 x 6", watercolour - Animals seek revenge, destroying a human’s house reclaiming the land as their own. A tale of role reversal. | ![]() 13.4 x 7.4", screenprint - C02 emissions are a known issue environmentally. However, there still isn’t any significant urge to reduce them (electric cars cause C02 emissions too, through production!). Causing respiratory harm as well, the best solution might just be creating a gas mask car. At least then we can continue to drive without effecting the environment, and reduce the C02 emissions causing us all internal harm. | ![]() 6 x 8", screenprint - Light pollution, often pushed aside in the world of pollution; is one of the main contributing factors to animal migration, navigation and communication issues. These artificial lights can and have lead to death and/or disorientation within animals. |
![]() 11 x 17", digital (original was soaked in water for an effect) - Sea levels have been rising for years. Amsterdam is one example, from many - that is projected to have extreme flooding by 2050. My idea for this poster was to create it with the idea of it being a travel poster a tourist would collect when vacationing in the flooded city. I soaked this piece in water to add to my storyline and give it an effect as if it was actually brought back from the aquatic trip.. |
